## How does each capture artifact support the next one?

The seven steps are one record, not seven disconnected services. GPS-verified dispatch establishes who arrived and where the capture began. The exterior, interior, moisture, and photographic passes then document different parts of the same property during that logged visit. The co-signed attestation connects the people on site to the work completed, and the final hash connects every preserved raw file to a public timestamp.

That sequence matters because a useful record must explain more than what a file appears to show. HomeCloneVault retains the technician identity, UTC timestamps, GPS data, device identifiers, and verification proof needed to trace the record from physical capture to sealed delivery. The interactive portal is the convenient viewing layer; the raw files and their matching hashes remain the integrity layer.

### How should an owner prepare and maintain the baseline?

- Identify an owner or authorized representative who can be present for the capture and co-sign the attestation.

- Give the two-person team access to the rooms, surfaces, exterior areas, and property features included in the agreed scope.

- Keep the delivered raw files, custody record, and anchoring proofs together, even when portal links are used for convenient review.

- Request a fresh capture after a significant renovation so the sealed baseline describes the property that actually exists.

HomeCloneVault does not turn the capture into an inspection opinion or a claim valuation. The field team documents measured condition, preserves provenance, and seals the record. If the record is later relevant to a claim or proceeding, the owner, licensed adjuster, and counsel decide how it should be used.

## The seven steps

- 01 ### Dispatch Dispatch is scheduled and GPS-verified technician arrival is logged. Human chain of custody begins the moment wheels hit the driveway.

- 02 ### Exterior + Roof + Thermal An enterprise mapping-class drone — thermal camera, 10x optical zoom, and RTK-capable positioning — captures roof condition, all exterior elevations, and thermal imaging, flown by an FAA Part 107 licensed pilot. GPS-tagged. Pilot-logged.

- 03 ### Interior LiDAR Capture A tablet-class device with a true LiDAR sensor performs on-device LiDAR point-cloud capture of every room, ceiling, floor, and fixture. True geometry, not photographs. Exported locally on-device — never routed through third-party cloud processing before hashing.

- 04 ### Moisture Baseline A calibrated professional moisture meter takes readings on every wall, ceiling, and floor surface in every room. Each reading is photographed with the meter on the surface, GPS-tagged and timestamped. Pre-loss moisture baselines prevent post-loss water intrusion and mold disputes.

- 05 ### Photo Documentation Hundreds of GPS-tagged, timestamped inspection photos are captured in parallel with the scans — two operators, one pass, nothing missed.

- 06 ### Attestation Technician and homeowner co-sign the Field Capture Verification and Attestation form on-site. Optional unsworn declaration under Florida and federal statute.

- 07 ### The Seal The complete raw package is SHA-256 hashed on-site, on a local machine, before anything leaves the property — nothing is uploaded from the field. The sealed media is physically transported to the office, where a second team member independently re-hashes it and cross-checks every value against the on-site record. Only then are the hashes anchored to the Bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains via OriginStamp. The hash is the legal record — not a viewer, not a copy. The original. Independently verifiable by anyone on two public blockchains.

## What "chain of custody" actually means here

Chain of custody is the documented answer to five questions an opposing expert will ask about any piece of evidence. HomeCloneVault answers each one with a logged artifact rather than a recollection — the same categories that underpin authentication under [Federal Rule of Evidence 901](https://www.law.cornell.edu/rules/fre/rule_901).

Any alteration made after anchoring produces a different hash than the one on the public ledgers. The mismatch itself becomes evidence of tampering — which is why the seal protects you whether or not anyone ever challenges it.

### How long does a capture take?

Capture time depends on property size and complexity, and the two-operator model — one scanning interiors while the other documents the exterior — is designed to compress it. Your specific scheduling window is confirmed when the capture is booked.

### Do I need to be present for the capture?

An owner or authorized representative co-signs the Field Capture Verification and Attestation form on site, which is part of what makes the chain of custody defensible. That signature is a meaningful part of the record.

### What happens if I renovate after the capture?

A baseline reflects the property as it existed on the capture date. After a significant renovation, a re-capture updates the sealed record so the evidence matches the current property — an aging baseline loses persuasive weight.

### Can I get a copy of my own raw files?

Yes. Clients own their data. The raw files, the chain-of-custody log, and the blockchain proofs are yours, and the anchoring proofs are verifiable with open-source tools independently of HomeCloneVault.
