The forensic principle behind every choice
The legal record is the raw point-cloud file hashed at the moment of capture — not a hosted viewer, not a copy, not a processed output. This distinction is the whole architecture.
Any design that routes the legal record through a third-party cloud before hashing creates a seam in the chain of custody: a window in which the file existed somewhere HomeCloneVault cannot account for. Opposing experts look for exactly that seam. Hashing at capture eliminates it.
The same reasoning drives the rest of the stack. Measured geometry instead of inferred geometry. What file formats does the point cloud use?
Interior capture exports true point-cloud formats such as E57, OBJ, and LAS. These are open, widely readable formats, which matters when an expert on the other side of a dispute needs to examine the same file you hold.
